First Grade Fish Collage

First grade students began this project by reading the story "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister.  They used a white crayon and watercolor resist to paint their ocean backgrounds, they then used black ink to print their fish.  The next day students tore and crumbled their paper for the sand.  Students finished their collage by adding some tissue paper seaweed and one shimmering sparkly scale to their fish!
