Jacob Lawrence Inspired Paintings

5th grade KIPPsters studied the work of Harlem Renaissance artist Jacob Lawrence and his use of shapes to paint the places in his neighborhood. 

KIPPsters then learned about the art elements of shape and color, and used geometric and organic shapes to create a drawing of themselves at their favorite place in Austin.  KIPPsters then painted their work using primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
