Abstract Expressionism

5th graders analyzed the work of various Abstract Expressionist painters, including Rothko and Pollock.  They discovered how through the use of only line, color, and shape the Abstract Expressionists were able to convey a wide range of human emotions.  The paintings below are an example of the various emotions that the 5th graders chose to convey.
