Minimalist Abstract Sculptures

4th grade students looked at the work of Minimalist sculptors and constructed their own unique minimal form.  They then analyzed the work of various Abstract Expressionist painters, including Rothko and Pollock.  They discovered how through the use of only line, color, and shape the Abstract Expressionists were able to convey a wide range of human emotions.  The students then transformed their minimalist sculptures by conveying various emotions through their painting.
