1st Grade Animal Collage

1st grade students started this unit by reading the book “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” They admired the illustrations of different animals created by the illustrator Eric Carle.  Students then used shapes to draw their own animal from observation.  Once they finished painting their animal, they learned about space.  They then used a horizon line to draw and paint a habitat for their animal to live in.
