1st Grade Still Life Collage

1st grade students began this art unit by learning how to draw and paint different forms using value.  They then chose from a variety of fruits and vegetables to draw and paint from observation. Once they completed painting their objects students then painted a background by mixing secondary and tertiary colors.  Students finally used overlapping and balance when arranging and collaging their objects onto their background.

Art Vocabulary:
Form: A 3-Dimensional object (ex. cube, cylinder, cone)
Value: Tints (lights) and Shades (darks)
