The Virtual Art Room: Using Video to Teach Art Online

Hello artists and educators! My name is Paula Liz and I am an Elementary Art Teacher. There is no doubt that the Coronavirus pandemic has transformed education around the world. I strongly believe that now more than ever, our children need access to a quality arts education.  Involvement in the arts is known to be associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills. But most importantly, it provides a much needed emotional and creative outlet for our students.

Art has the power to transform and help our communities heal during these difficult times. Since current circumstances may require us to continue online distance learning, we as educators need to learn to adapt our practice.  That is why today I am going to share with you how you can plan, prepare, create, edit, and share your own video art lessons so that we can continue to inspire young artists around the world. Let’s get started!
