Recycled Art: Environmental Artivism
Objective: Artists will learn about the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment and create a work of art using recycled materials.
Overview: We begin by learning how plastic has negatively impacted the environment and what actions we can take to help prevent pollution (reducing plastic consumption, using reusable items, recycling, etc.) Students are then tasked with reusing recyclable items to create a unique work of art. This choice based project leads students through the planning process of selecting available materials and constructing a unique work of art. We will also look at the Washed Ashore Project and the art of Tan Zi Xi for inspiration.
