Puppy Patterns

Fifth graders began this project by using shapes to draw a dog.  Students then learned about colors, and how they can convey different moods/emotions.  They chose an emotion and chose to paint their dogs a color that would represent that mood.  Students then created a pattern that they transferred onto a Styrofoam plate.  They then used printmaking techniques to repeat the pattern in their backgrounds.
