2nd Grade Community Paintings

Second grade students were introduced to the work of artist Jacob Lawrence, who created paintings 

of his community in Harlem, New York. Using geometric and organic shapes students began drawing their favorite place in the community. Students then learned how to create secondary colors, tertiary colors, tints, and shades to paint their work.  Check out their fantastic masterpieces!
