HRA Animal Sculptures
This past summer I lead an amazing "Art and Animals" camp at the Humane Rescue Alliance located in Washington, DC. During the week students got to spend time with animals at the shelter while also creating art inspired by animals. This is one of the projects they completed during the week! (Students were all rising 5th-8th graders)
Below you can see some of the sculptures they created of different animals. They started with a wire armature that they then covered in foil and tape. After wrapping their armatures with paperclay, they carved textures and details before painting with acrylic.
